Twilight Sparkle (Before she became an Alicorn)

 

Twilight Sparkle is a unicorn pony and the main protagonist of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, who turns into an Alicorn in season three's finale. After the events of the two-part series premiere, she moves from Canterlot to Ponyville in order to continue the study of friendship under Princess Celestia's guidance, and regularly maintains correspondence with the Princess. She lives at the Golden Oaks Library along with her assistant, Spike, and her pet owl, Owlowiscious. She has an older brother, Shining Armor, who is introduced in the two-part finale of season two. Shining Armor marries Twilight Sparkle's former babysitter Princess Cadance, which inducts Twilight into royalty; she was listed as royalty on trading cards of Cadance and Shining Armor even before the finale of season three. Twilight is transformed into an Alicorn in the third season's final episode thanks to her completion of a new magic spell. She represents the element of magic.

Now before I do too much, I will be going for a human Twilight and not a pony-pony costume. I will try to find a dragon or owl to use as a prop. (or buy the Spike baby doll from Wal-Mart) There will be time needed to complete this due to the different ways I can go about it. I could go with an evil version like DarkTwi or MOV Twilight or I could have done Alicorn but that's too new to try and analyze. So with that in mind I could even do incest Twi with her love fetish for Shining Armor.

Here is the list for this next round of cosplaying. Hopefully this on will be better organized and I can add videos later. Anyway, this is going to be a pony run.

Character Number Two: Rarity

Rarity is a unicorn pony who resides in Ponyville, and is one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is the older sister of Sweetie Belle and the love interest of Spike. Rarity works as both a fashion designer and as a seamstress at her own shop, the Carousel Boutique. She has a white Persian cat named Opalescence. She represents the element of generosity. Unlike Twilight, her magic is used for activities related to her special talent, and for basic tasks such as holding and carrying items or finding gems

 

 



Character Number Three: Rainbow Dash

 

Rainbow Dash is a Pegasus pony and one of the main characters in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is responsible for maintaining the weather and clearing the skies in Ponyville. As a huge admirer of The Wonderbolts, she dreams of one day joining their elite flying group. In Sonic Rainboom, Rarity and Princess Celestia both declare that she is the best flier in all of Equestria. Rainbow Dash has a pet tortoise named Tank, who was given to her by Fluttershy in the episode May the Best Pet Win!. She represents the element of loyalty.



Character Number Four: Apple Jack

Applejack is an Earth pony and one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She lives and works at Sweet Apple Acres with her grandmother, Granny Smith; her big brother, Big McIntosh; her little sister, Apple Bloom; and her dog, Winona. She represents the element of honesty. Applejack is dependable and loyal, always willing to help anybody in need. She works at Sweet Apple Acres mainly as an apple bucker, though the Apples occasionally farm carrots and corn as well. She is a good sisterly figure to Apple Bloom and supports her friends well on their adventures.



Sorry for no update

Sorry but the Marceline cosplay will have no further update die to the lack of.... well... I just do not know what else to tall about. I feel I have hit all the points but I may be wrong. I will try to find a new character and be able to go into better detail.
There are many options but I want to choose something simple. Maybe one of the many six from my little pony. There are also characters from other things I am heavily into at the moment like... slenderman. Hahaha. I may even switch to fanfiction instead of sticking to cosplaying since I am on a writing kick. I do feel bad for not wanting to stick to cosplaying but I just do not have the time or money... but I will try to find something useful to write about. I don't want to have all my posts be like this one where I ramble a lot in hopes to get a spark of an idea of what else to write.
I will hopefully get a camera that works in hopes that I can have that video blog on Marcey. But that might have to wait till summer when I am not swamped in homework and failing grades. Until then I hope this message will be good enough till then. Sorry and hope to have an update sooner.

Appearance Runthrough (part 1)

We are to appearance now. Marceline actually has many outfits but most characters have a set outfit in most case though. I have found a picture of most of Marceline's outfits.

By looking at Marcline's wardrobe we can get at that reds, purple/pinks and denim blues are good Marcy colors. You can get an idea by looking the clothing and just using something in your own wardrobe. But, I have decided that I am going to pick something similar to the first outfit by wearing a red tank, denim skinnys, and black boots. The hair is obvious long black (except for 'go with me' and any younger outfits) so I will be fine with my black hair. We might however not always be so lucky to have hair like our characters. Ebay is a good place to go for cheap wigs. (Later in my blog I might do a video on ways I put wigs on by myself, with help of others, and to other people.)

Character Actions

I do not how to better explain this one then by just saying the habits or the way a character looks on the outside not by appearance but action. Imagine a black outline of a character and their stance. You could tell who they were just by the stance they took.

Example:

-Apple Jack from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, has the habit of crossing one side of hooves over the others in a laid back pose or also seen as an "Ain't Nothin'" pose.

-Inuyasha from.... Inuyasha, Has the tendency to scratch his ear when annoyed by conversations that are not deep emotion ones but just casually annoying conversations.

There are many little things that a character can do that is more obvious then little habits.

Example:

-England from Hetalia is a horrible cook, this may not be a habits but it is an action that if you said "That one character that can't cook in Hetalia?" we would know right away it was England.

-Gamzee from Homstuck and his Faygo, because when I see Faygo at Rural King I think Gamzee.

-Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender has a short temper (angst) and while that is not a specific habit it is a characteristic that makes him stand out amongst other characters

Our Character however is Marceline the Vampire Queen.

 -Marceline from Adventure Time, she has the tendency to be cool and relaxed but she does have a temper amongst her free spiritedness. She has the habit of not quite getting people and just doesn't understand what peoples deal is with her sometimes. She also has a bad singing habit which was touched on in previous posts.

Note: One of the best ways to learn a character is by writing down things that do or how they react to situations from feelings to physical actions. Also, try mimicking scenes of this character to really get the feel. Don't be afraid to copy them all the way down to the actions. (However I cannot float.)

Character Dissection (Part 3) (Song Test)

So, here my test song lyrics for Marceline. This is my work and I claim this song and lyrics. The only thing not mine is the Adventure Time referencing.

Example:
Back story: Marceline has made Princess Bubblegum upset for the last time and now Marceline is banned from the Candy Kingdom. Marceline does not take this well and begins roaming the outer walls of Candy Kingdom singing her feelings on the situation. (A mixture of bitter sadness)

Character Dissection (Part 2) (A little extra)

There is something that make Marceling stand out amongst the rest. Her voice. She is a very musical queen with an attitude to fit it. So there is something that I personally think that all Marceline cosplayers should try: Writing a song.

Example: The rymes

All songs have certain ryme pattern and little ways to make it flow to their unique melody. Here is one of Marceline's most popular songs "Just Your Problem"
